NBT team on 12-14 April 2017 visited Fergana province which is one of the pilot regions of UNDP implemented “Technical Capacity Building” Project of EU financed Programme “Sustainable management of water resources in rural areas of Uzbekistan”.

This visit was organized with the aim of assessment of the capacities and needs of local water management organizations by collecting data and conducting interviews.

During the visit, team met with the management representatives of “Syrdarya-Sokh” Basin Irrigation Systems Authority and its sub-ordinate organizations such as 4 Irrigation Systems Authorities (“Isfara-Syrdarya”, “Sokh-Oqtepa”, “Norin-Fargona”, “Isfayram-Shohimardon”), Department of Pump Stations and Meliorative Expedition as well as pilot Water Consumers’ Associations named “ZarmirobTurg’unboy” in Tashlak district and “MusajonIsmoilov” in Kuva district.

Colleagues from above-mentioned organizations shared with us their valuable opinions in regard to various aspects of water management at basin/irrigation systems and WCA levels.
